The Dubai International Hotel is located in Terminal 1 of the Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the world’s busiest airports.
This hotel caters specifically to transit passengers and offers various amenities and accommodations to ensure a comfortable stay within the airport’s airside. This DXB transit hotel offers various amenities and accommodations to ensure a comfortable stay. It’s perfect for those passing through or for cutting down the commute if you have an early flight.
Find the best rates at the Dubai International HotelDubai International Hotel Check-In
Check-in at the Dubai International Hotel was seamless and took all of two minutes. This was aided by the hotel’s best feature, your very own escort from gate to hotel. Should you choose so, you can receive a warm welcome at your arrival gate from a dedicated Concierge who will be waiting and ready to assist you. I suggest benefiting from their personalized service to ensure a seamless check-in procedure.
This made navigating the lively DXB airport a breeze, especially after indulging in a few cocktails on my inbound Emirates 777 business-class flight 😉

What Are the DXB Transit Hotel Guest Rooms Like?
Guest rooms at the Dubai International DXB transit hotel are well equipped with everything you would need for a quick stay.
As we entered the room, I noticed the expansive menu on the TV, complete with our personal flight connection details, right down to the gate and walking time to get there. I thought this was a convenient touch and something I hadn’t seen in other transit hotels I have stayed at.
The guest rooms at Dubai International Hotel offer a comfortable and convenient oasis for travelers within the bustling Dubai International Airport. These rooms are designed to cater specifically to the needs of transit passengers, providing a range of amenities to ensure a relaxing stay.
The rooms are tastefully decorated with modern furnishings, creating a soothing ambiance for weary travelers. Each room has cozy beds, ensuring a restful sleep during the layover. Additionally, amenities such as flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, work desks, and seating areas contribute to a comfortable and functional space for guests.
I found the rooms more functional than style, which is perfectly OK when discussing this DXB Transit hotel. The colors are an odd choice: navy blues with yellow and green accents, but, again, the room had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It reminded me of the Yotel transit hotel I stayed at in Istanbul, which was also a function-over-fashion kind of place.
Furthermore, considering the diverse needs of travelers, the Dubai International Hotel offers various room types, including Single, Double, and Suites. These accommodations are well-appointed and come with en suite bathrooms equipped with shower facilities and complimentary toiletries, offering convenience and comfort to guests during their short stay. Aside from the bidet, the bathroom was clean and basic.
Moreover, the hotel’s soundproofing ensures that guests can unwind and relax without disturbance from the bustling airport environment, allowing for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience amidst the travel hustle. Overall, the guest rooms at the Dubai International Hotel provide a welcoming retreat for travelers to rest, recharge, and refresh during their transit at DXB.
What Amenities Does the DXB Transit Hotel Have?
Even for a regular hotel, this DXB transit hotel offers a surprising amount of amenities. Upon entering, you will find a nice-sized lounge with a bar. We passed a massive games room with a pool and ping pong table on the way to our room.
There’s a well-equipped gym, perfect for those Dubai airport hotel transit passengers looking to get a workout in. This was not me, so I didn’t check it out.
Finally, a surprising amenity of this hotel in Dubai Airport for transit passengers is a spa. I did not visit it, but I did check out the menu, and it seemed like a great place to unwind between flights.
What is there to do in the Dubai Airport for Transit Passengers
Although there are plenty of great options to keep you entertained at this DXB transit hotel, there are plenty of activities nearby as well.
Dubai Airport is about as much a shopping mall as it is an airport; most is open 24/7. As such, there is a plethora of activities and facilities to keep passengers entertained and comfortable during their layovers. Here are some options:
- Duty-Free Shopping: Dubai Airport boasts an extensive array of shops and boutiques offering a wide range of products, from luxury brands to local souvenirs. Passengers can shop for electronics, fashion, perfumes, chocolates, and more.
- Dining and Cuisine: The airport features an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and eateries serving diverse cuisines catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. From international chains to local delicacies, there’s something for everyone.
- Lounges: Several lounges within the airport offer facilities like comfortable seating, complimentary refreshments, Wi-Fi, showers, and sometimes even spa treatments. Passengers can access these lounges through airline memberships or by purchasing day passes.
- Relaxation Zones: The airport has designated relaxation areas where passengers can unwind and rest before their next flight. Some lounges also offer quiet zones for relaxation.
- Spa and Wellness Services: Passengers can enjoy spa treatments, massages, and wellness services available in certain areas of the airport, providing an opportunity to rejuvenate during the layover.
- Art and Culture: Dubai Airport features art installations, exhibitions, and displays showcasing local and international art, providing passengers with a cultural experience while in transit.
- Entertainment: Some terminals offer entertainment options such as gaming zones, movie theatres, and live music performances to keep passengers entertained.
- Connectivity and Wi-Fi: The airport provides free Wi-Fi throughout the terminals, allowing passengers to stay connected, catch up on work, or stream entertainment during their wait.
On our Dubai layover, since we were flying Emirates A380 in business class the next day, we made use of the Emirates Lounge. This massive facility has excellent food and is highlighted by a champagne bar.
We followed the lounge visit up with a quick foot rub before heading back to the hotel for some rest.
Dubai Layover Tour
Alternatively, if you have a layover of 6 hours or longer, you can take a fantastic layover tour of Dubai! This is a great way to see the highlights in the city and then have a comfortable sleep before heading to your gate.
Dubai Airport Hotel in Transit Alternatives
If the Dubai International Hotel isn’t available, there is a smaller, more budget-friendly hotel called Sleep’n Fly. This Dubai Airport hotel for transit passengers is tailored for both comfort and practicality.
The sleep ’n fly Sleep Lounges, available across four locations at DXB – Concourse A, B, and C (all Terminal 3) and Concourse D (Terminal 1), cater to varying durations from a quick one-hour power nap to an entire night’s stay. Discover a range of sleep options ideal for solo travelers or groups, including sleep pods, single, double, and bunk cabins. Each space is equipped with a dedicated workspace, fostering productivity and relaxation before your departure. Certain lounges also offer additional amenities such as shower facilities, restrooms, and private working pods.
If you have a bit more time, I suggest leaving the airport. Several great hotel options are within a 10-minute cab ride from DXB airport.
- Hampton by Hilton Dubai Airport
- Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport, an IHG Hotel
- Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre

Pair all that with the meet-you-at-the-gate concierge service, and it is also super easy to get in and out. I would, without hesitation, stay here again and can recommend this Dubai Airport hotel for transit passengers connecting through DXB.
