A Stunning Photo Walk on the Old Dubrovnik Walls

Dubrovnik is home to the most impressive walled city in the world (says me) and on my 1st visit, I completely missed walking on them. A walk on the old Dubrovnik walls was a big part of why I decided to return. The old town is ridiculously beautiful and strolling its 80+ f00t high walls gave me a whole new perspective and appreciation for the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” To circle the entire city it will take you about 2 hours, cost you 120 Kuna (~$23 CAD), and drain your camera battery.

I could go on explaining how the city walls fought off invaders for centuries and remained intact during the siege by Serbia in the ’90s but I would rather show you why it is the most popular attraction in Dubrovnik today.

With that here is my photo walk on the old Dubrovnik walls:

The Old Dubrovnik Walls From the Adriatic Sea?

Now that I have conquered the city walls from above, on my next visit I need to see the city from the sea. Renting a boat in Croatia is extremely popular and a great way to explore the coast. On my return, I hope to do just that. Thanks to companies like Zizoo.com, renting a boat in Croatia is also extremely easy!

  1. Such gorgeous photos, it totally makes me want to visit the place one day. It’s like the town that you visit when you’re soul searching, or looking for a place to run away from the world. It totally has the calming vibe.
