Your Southern Utah Itinerary – Great Activities in the Salt Lake State

Southern Utah is a beautiful place to escape and see some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world. But with all the things to see, what are the most important? How will you make sure that you can see everything?

Here is the perfect itinerary to make the most of your visit to Southern Utah.

Zion National Park

The best place to start out is at a national park. Zion National Park is one of the top US National Parks to visit. You can check into your Zion National Park lodging and then start venturing into the park. Even on your first day, you can get some easier hikes into your schedule. Zion is one of the most stunning places in the world. There’s a reason millions of people from around the world come into the park.

Hiking

The options for hiking are endless in Zion National Park as well as many of the areas nearby such as Bryce Canyon. Many people enjoy hikes like the Narrows in Zion National Park where you can cool off with the water or Emerald Pools. If you’re feeling daring, consider Angels Landing. If you are hiking in Bryce Canyon, Queens Garden and Navajo Loop Trails is consider one of the best hiking experiences.

Many of the hiking options are free and open to the public free of charge. Some are paved and extremely accessible to people with any disabilities or to the not-so hiking inclined.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is a great way to experience Southern Utah. Much like the original settlers who uncovered the secrets of what are now National Parks, you can see aspects of the park you would never be able to appreciate on foot.

Schedule your Zion horseback riding experience before and pay ahead of time so all you have to do is show up and follow your guide. There are various rides that have shorter and longer lengths of time so you can choose what makes the most sense for you and your group.

Golf

After all that outdoor adventures, you definitely want to check out golf courses for a morning outing. You can go play a round of golf for the majority of the year. Some of the most beautiful and well-kept golf courses in the country can be found in Southern Utah because of this.

Sand Hollow Reservoir

Sand Hollow Reservoir offers some amazing views and cliff jumping for the adventurous out there. It also has smaller jumps that most people who like to swim will find not too treacherous. You can rent a boat or a paddleboard to enjoy some time on the water seeing the incredible red rocks.

Attend a Play

Not only does the Tuacahn Amphiteatre host some marvellous performers, but the theatre itself also lends an amazing show being set in the towering red Snow Canyon mountains. The organization picks fun shows with unique and spectacular costumes. The sets are first-class. It’s definitely worth the money.

Another great place to see a show is the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. You can celebrate the legacy and importance of theatre by seeing one of their amazing shows – both classic Shakespeare shows and newer options.

Tour St. George

St. George is a gem in Southern Utah. The city has a rich pioneer history and much of the downtown has been maintained and restored to tell the story of the city. There are also many delicious restaurants to try, as well as fun, unique shops. Known as a relaxation destination, it also offers many spas, parks and other places to just chill.

Southern Utah provides some of the most magnificent views and experiences in the world. Take some time to plan out your trip so you get the most out of your trip.
