NYAH Key West – Not Your Average Hotel Key West Review

As the name suggests, NYAH Key West is self-described as ‘not your average hotel’. This is a bold statement that had me intrigued. While in town seeking out all the odd attractions in Key West and the best places to drink that don’t suck, I had the opportunity to stay at NYAH Key West and see for myself just what makes it not your average hotel.

What Are NYAH Hotels?

NYAH (Not Your Average Hotel) in Key West redefines the traditional hotel experience. Catering to a more flexible and communal approach, NYAH Key West allows guests to customize their stay by offering a unique room configuration system. When you step through NYAH’s street-side gate, it becomes immediately clear that this is not your average hotel. Past the lobby (and the free Starbucks coffee machine) you enter the courtyard which consists of 3 stunning pools, loungers, and a breakfast bar. The whole area gives off a laid-back and easy style only found in the Keys.

What really makes it not your average hotel are the rooms. Gone are the traditional king and queen beds, furniture, and minibar. Instead, you’ll find single beds that can be customized to suit your needs. With its customizable (and surprisingly comfortable) bed frames, NYAH rooms can be easily set up to your party’s (and party) needs.

NYAH Hotels are Cost Are Friendly

NYAH Key West stands out by offering a unique solution to the common challenge of accommodation costs in this sought-after destination. Unlike traditional hotels in Key West, which can be quite expensive due to the warm climate and high demand, NYAH provides a refreshing approach. Its customizable rooms allow for flexibility, enabling the accommodation to cater to the needs of groups without breaking the bank. Imagine planning a bachelorette party or a guys’ fishing trip – scenarios where the cost of multiple rooms in a standard hotel would be notably high.

The rooms at NYAH hotels can easily adapt to accommodate up to six people, offering a cost-effective alternative hotel that ensures both comfort and savings. Hostel Hybrid

Although I was told you cannot purchase a single bed in a dorm room, NYAH is listed on hostelworld.com and does have that hostel feel. Rooms include handy storage lockers that are only accessible with your room key. Each bed has a convenient cubby with 110 V and a USB power outlet for charging smartphones and tablets. Nice touch.

Not Your Average Hotel Common Grounds

NYAH redefines the hostel experience with modern amenities and a vibrant atmosphere. While the rooms capture the essence of communal living, the common spaces elevate the stay. Step into contemporary bathrooms boasting large tiled showers, providing a refreshing retreat. Getting Around From NYAH Key West

Unlike most budget-minded accommodations I’ve stayed at, NYAH Key West is not in a seedy part of town. Nor is it in the middle of nowhere. This, not your average hotel, is located only four blocks off busy Duval Street. Although Key West is a very walkable city, bike rentals are available from the hotel and are a lifesaver in the afternoon heat. Visiting the cats at the Hemingway house or barhopping the unique places to get a drink in Key West is a breeze from NYAH.

I highly recommend taking a guided bike tour if you want to get some history while pedaling!

Not Your Average Hotel Key West Review

The NYAH Key West Hotel is a great choice for those visiting the costly city of Key West. The unique approach to accommodations is being noticed (4.5 average on TripAdvisor and climbing) and could eventually become a common fixture in busy tourist cities around the world. Opening a hostel/hotel has been somewhat of a dream of mine as I could pull from all my favorite locations to create the best stay possible. It looks like NYAH Key West; this is not an average hotel, and it has beaten me to it.
