Why is the Neorion TripAdvisors #1 hotel in Istanbul? 3

For our last couple of days in Istanbul, we were treated to a stay at the Neorion – Istanbul’s number one hotel on TripAdvisor. With such high ratings, I really wanted to see for myself what sets the Neorion Hotel apart.

Neorion Hotel Service

From the moment we stepped through the front door we were treated like welcomed guests – who may or may not have been royalty. While we waited to be checked in the host took us to the lounge area and gave us a rundown on the Neorion Hotel facilities and the incredible area it is located in – all while we sipped complimentary wine. Nice start Neorion. Throughout our stay, we were met with warm smiles and over-the-top helpfulness. Amazing service.

Neorion Hotel Amenities

The best feature of this great hotel may just be the amazing breakfast spread. Fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, and a crazy assortment of Turkish pastries and jams made for a great way to start our mornings. In the afternoon, the spread turns into complimentary “snacks” which could have fed us for dinner every night if we weren’t so full from the morning’s feast.

In the basement, you will find a Turkish bath with a small pool and steam room. An incredibly great place to unwind after a day of seeing the sights. There’s also a rooftop patio but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy it.

The Room

Our room was super clean and comfortable. Although we have stayed in nicer hotels, our Neorion hotel room had a cozy feel that just felt peaceful. It could’ve been the amazing jar of Turkish delights on the coffee table I powered through, or the complimentary box they left us as a gift the next day that really swayed me on the room. Well played Neorion. Attack my sweet tooth.

Location

For seeing all that is Istanbul, the Neorion Hotel is in the perfect spot. Located steps from the T1 tram line, getting to the most famous sites is a short ride away. You can also walk as the Neorion is minutes away from the Topkapi Palace and its surrounding museums as well as the spice bazaar, Galata Bridge, and the boats that can take you for a tour on the Bosphorus or to Istanbul’s Asia side.

There is also lots of shops and restaurants around the corner as well as street vendors serving up fresh squeezed juices and delicious street meat.

On a less significant note to those of you not from Canada or the UK, the Neorion Hotel is walking distance away from an Irish pub that shows football games, and in our case, Canada versus Sweden Sochi Olympic gold-medal hockey finals. Winning Neorion. We were obviously thrilled to find this place and even more thrilled to share it with some other travelling Canucks.

Thoughts

From our short stay, it was clear why this hotel gets the praise it deserves. From the over-the-top service to its great amenities, and fantastic location, it is easy to see why the Neorion Hotel is trip TripAdvisor’s number one hotel in Istanbul.

Although I was provided a couple cozy Istanbul nights at a press rate from the Neorion Hotel,
the experience, opinions, oohs and awes are my own.

    1. I do Lisa. I really do. Funny thing is I didn’t know what they were before going to Turkey. The first one I had I plopped in my Turkish coffee because I thought it was a wired sugar cube!
