I was able to swing going to Yellowknife a day early so I could go fishing with my brother. Let me just say, fishing on Great Slave lake in September is freaking cold. Casting with gloves on is an experience. The fish were there but not biting much so we spent the afternoon drinking cold, cold beer.
Of course when I got home Ma had a hot meal cooking. I would say the nest part of going home is getting the home cooked meals. This particular night it was prime rib and Yorkshire pudding. Amen.
I was also fortunate to be in town for my friend Aaron’s baby daughters baptism. It was very nice to be there for this especially as I was there for his wedding last summer.
