Snow day

I have become terrible at remembering to take pictures. On a recent weekend trip to Edmonton I brought my camera but didn’t take a single picture with it. No matter really as this pretty much sums it up:

I arrived on a Thursday afternoon and it was +1 outside and no snow. The sun was shinning bright, something I felt like I hadn’t seen in a couple months. I met up with some old co-workers and friends and caught up over beers and shots of JD before heading to an Oiler’s game. It felt like home. The game (from what I remember) was great. An Oil win I believe. I drank a least 2 x as much stadium beer as I spilled on the guy in front of me. I was that guy and it was good times…and it was nice to see a game without Canucks fans….

Bar hopping on Whyte followed. It ended with floor pizza and a smile. It was a good day and made me feel like I could live there again.

Then I woke up to a hangover and what looked like 10ft of snow outside. The snow continued for the rest of the time we were there and the temperature dropped to minus bejesus.  All of this made my tiny Kia rental car super happy good times. I am sick of listening to people in Vancouver bitch about snow. Leave your bubble in February and then complain.

Weather and headaches aside we had a great time catching up with friends and really that is what we miss about the city.

It’s good to see another Oiler’s fan. We don’t have too many of them where I am from. Beer, pizza and hockey with some snow thrown in! You can’t beat that.

It’s nice to meet up again with some old friends. Sharing and reminiscing moments
in the past. These are some fortunate event in life.
