Looking for a truly unique way to see Bali? Hop aboard the Bali Beach and Bar Hopping Tour by Custom 1980 VW Kombi Bus for a day you won’t forget. This retro and retrofitted Bali Booze Bus was my personal ride for a day of beach and bar hopping fun. Here’s how it went:
Here’s how it went:
Climb Aboard
So what makes this Bali booze bus so great? Besides the retro looks, inside is a music system loaded with classic rock, onboard Wi-Fi, and a connector for your own music collection. Oh, and a cooler full of ice-cold Bintang at the touch of a button.
Boom.
Beach Bouncing
We left the comforts of the Trans Resort Bali for our day on the Balli booze bus bright and early. This tour took us to handful of beach bars and restaurants, all while sipping on ice cold beer in the back of this sweet ride. The day wasn’t just about cruising with Bintang’s in hand. We sampled several unique Bali drinks like Arak Colada’s and the “best bloody Mary on the island.”
Turns out it really was.
Not Just Booze
Although the day’s theme on the Balli booze bus was drinking, we did take in some great sights. We passed through small towns and beautiful green rice fields as well as visiting Batu Ngaus – a 17th century oceanside Temple…and an impressive one at that.
Wrapped in Balinese traditional dress, we entered the temple and had an interesting tour of the grounds and the traditions that it has upheld for centuries. By this point, we were no doubt stumbling and felt a touch disrespectful in our state so something to keep in mind if you find yourself half-cut in a skirt touring a sacred temple in Bali!
Sunset on a Great Day
Our Bali booze bus tour concluded with a sunset cocktail at the Four Seasons on Jimbaran Bay. Good to know, for easy online hotel booking for this hotel and more check out Traveloka! All in it was a great way to see the island and the best places to have a drink. I would recommend this tour for groups of 4. This would give you the bus to yourselves and let you choose your own adventure…within limits. The bars and clubs on the tour are a bit off-brand with the bus – opting for higher-end cocktail bars instead of bars more suited for those that just stepped off a bus with a cooler full of beer at the touch of a button.
That said, it was a pretty amazing day. I guess it’s hard to complain when you cruise around in a pimped out Kombi. Plus once the sun went down the Bali booze bus party really started…or at least for us.
