Icheri Sheher, also known as the Old City or Inner City, is a historical and architectural monument in the heart of Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. It is the oldest part of Baku and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
*
*
Icheri Sheher is surrounded by walls and has several gates leading to different parts of the city. Within the walls, there are numerous historical monuments, including the Maiden Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Bukhara Caravanserai, and the Juma Mosque. The Maiden Tower, in particular, is a symbol of Baku and is often used to represent the city.
*
*
The Old City’s architecture is a mix of different styles, reflecting the city’s history and the influence of various cultures. There are buildings with Persian, Arabic, and European architectural styles, among others. The narrow, winding streets and alleys also add to the charm of the area and make it a popular destination for tourists.
*
*
Today, Icheri Sheher is not only a historical monument, but it is also a thriving cultural center with many restaurants, shops, and museums. Visitors can take a walk around the walls, explore the monuments, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the Old City.

Nose bleed seats at the Aspendos Theater. * * Aspe Nose bleed seats at the Aspendos Theater.

Aspendos Theatre is a remarkable ancient Roman theater in the city of Aspendos, Turkey. Constructed in the 2nd century AD during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, it is considered one of the most well-preserved examples of Roman theaters in the world.
*
*
Aside from being a venue for theatrical performances, this historical site also served as a meeting place for local government officials and as a location for public announcements. But what’s truly remarkable about Aspendos Theatre is its outstanding acoustics, which are so precise that even a mere whisper from the stage can be heard from the farthest seats at the top. Today, the theater continues to be used for live performances and cultural events, including the annual Antalya International Opera and Ballet Festival.

Ancient Perga, located in the Antalya Province of Turkey, is an incredible archaeological site that was once a prosperous city in the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods. The city boasts a rich history and is home to many well-preserved ruins, including the impressive Roman theater, agora, and stadium. Walking through the ruins of Ancient Perga, I was transported back in time to a world of grandeur and glory. It’s truly amazing to see how advanced and sophisticated the civilization was back then. A visit to Ancient Perga is a must for anyone interested in history and archaeology. #AncientPerga #ArchaeologicalWonders #TurkeyTravel
