There are four reasons to visit Pennsylvania that you should review before visiting. Besides the history, there are plenty of great reasons to visit Pennsylvania and why it should be on your travel bucket list. Here are four.

The Food

One reason to visit Pennsylvania is for the food. There’s nowhere else that you’ll discover a cheesesteak sandwich that’s as mouth-watering and greasy as the ones you’ll come across in Philadelphia. There are several famous hot spots to check out that serve them. In addition to the cheesesteak, the state is also known for its pretzels, Philadelphia-style vanilla ice cream, and Italian hoagies.

Amish Country

Another reason to visit Pennsylvania is that Amish country. You can get an authentic experience as you learn about this religious lifestyle. There are many wonderful and attractive hotels to stay at if you want to add Amish Country to your itinerary. For instance, consider booking a room at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn. It’s a resort-style hotel that has many great amenities and offers a lot of fun to be had. You’ll have a memorable time enjoying the atmosphere, checking out the furniture, and watching the buggies go by.

To Check Out Hershey’s

You may not realize it but Pennsylvania is also the hometown of the infamous Hersey’s. The most famous chocolate you can get in America has its home right in Hersey, Pennsylvania. You can take a tour to see for yourself how the delicious and favourite kisses and chocolate syrup are produced. While on your tour you may also want to take time to make your own chocolate bar with a custom wrapper. You shouldn’t let the fun stop there. Once you’re done touring the factory you can go to Hersheypark, a theme park dedicated to the chocolate giant.

The Rich History

The state is not only the host to the official Groundhog Day celebration every February 2nd, but there’s also a lot of history to take in. Plan your trip accordingly because this special date does attract a lot of visitors to the area. As for exploring Pennsylvania and checking out some of the early American history locations, you can visit the Gettysburg National Military Park or even head out on a Civil War Trail. Be on the lookout to see and visit the location where George Washington slept at one point.
