Oslo by Sunset
So I finally made it to Oslo. I got in around 1700 and had to leave in the morning cause it was my last day for Eurorail (3 months goes fast). This left me little time to explore the city. I dropped my bag off at the hostel and visited the Akershus Castle and fortress, and the royal palace before stopping and having a Norwegian meal. Norway is not cheap. My dinner of chicken, potatoes and veggies with drink came to about 30 Canadian. Was glad I got free breakfast at the hostel after paying for dinner. After that I headed for the Vigelandsparken which is an 80-acre park filled with over 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. They say that it depicts the human life cycle but all I saw where naked people in odd positions or piled on top of each other. The water fountain was very impressive as was the tower of bodies stacked. I was there at sunset and stayed for a couple hours as it was very beautiful.
Oslo by Sunset is a must.
After that I headed back to the hostel. A Canada\Finland hockey game caught my attention so I watched the rest of it at a bar. Nice to see hockey again.
Bergen train in the morning. The ride is supposed to be the most scenic in Europe.
